JOB TITLE: Communications and Marketing Coordinator

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

In conjunction with, or as directed by, the Managing Director or Vice President of Investor Relations, the Communications and Marketing Coordinator is responsible for:

  • Responsible for managing press release preparation and internal approval process for all non-financial press releases.This includes, but is not limited to:
  • Preparing first draft of press releases for review of MD of IR or others
  • Distributing for internal approval, as per policy, and supervising/checking changes
  • Submitting press releases and overseeing proofing/final approval for all press releases, including financial, to BusinessWire.
  • Assuring that press releases are distributed to investor and client distribution lists via IR Navigator program, as directed
  • Back up MD of IR on media relations, as directed
  • Responsible for overseeing internal communications process, including:
    • Assuring that all press releases are distributed internally, as appropriate, to established distribution list
    • Assuring that "talking points" are distributed internally and posted on the intranet for all material press releases
    • Assuming responsibility for updating Q&A on the website and adding key Q&A to the intranet
    • Assist in creating internal communications policy, in conjunction with MD of IR and Human Resources
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining the public marketing materials for the company, including but not limited to:
    • Assuming responsibility as "webmaster" for Assured's public website, which requires, among other items: updating contact information for new/departed employees, quarterly updating of all marketing materials on the web as well as periodic requests to appropriate group to update contact
    • Assuming responsibility, as directed, for updating tear-sheets, transaction lists, marketing brochures and other marketing materials
    • Working with MD of IR to create a media relations package; then assume responsibility for maintaining these materials.
    • Assist Administrative Coordinator for IR group on updating standard presentations on the website
    • Responsible for updating and maintaining the IR section of the company's intranet, including updating current Q&A and key talking points
  • Responsible for maintaining, updating and quality control on email distribution lists maintained via IR Navigator.This includes:
    • Inputting new addresses as directed by the VP or MD of IR from new investor contacts
    • Culling database for "rejects" on email distributions
    • Managing database for new inputs from underwriters, fixed income IR.
  • Responsible for creating and keeping current a database of management bios, pictures, etc. for all managing directors and others that make public presentations at trade conferences, etc.
    • The bios should be distributed yearly for update
    • All new MDs should be solicited for a bio and arrangements made for a headshot
    • All new Directors on Direct underwriting side should also be solicited for a bio and arrangements made for a headshot
  • Responsible for logo and corporate identity/branding consistency for Assured Guaranty documents, including business cards, advertising, website design, folders, etc.
    • Includes maintaining and update the brand utilization standards
    • Includes updating logos, as necessary, for registered trademarking, etc.
  • Back-up responsibility for coordinating logistics of the annual report, including distribution of proofs, copy review, etc. by internal and external parties, in conjunction with the AVP of Investor Relations.
  • Position may also include assisting with preparation of SEC filings, such as 8-Ks for press releases, EDGARization process, 10-Q and 10-K drafting/change coordination.
