Product Developer/Watch Designer

Our client is a luxury fashion retail brand that is looking for an experienced Product Developer/Watch Designer to add to their team.

Main Responsibilities

  • Responsible to drive design and product development for one or more of our Brands
  • Report to the General Manager & EVP of Marketing
  • Work closely with the Brand Director to lead current and future strategies for product designs and line direction

Objectives

  • Main focus will be creating seasonal styles & trends recommendation that the Brand Director will incorporate in the overall Brand Strategy and briefs
  • Responsible to turn a brief into the best in class statement product wise in accordance to the featured strategic positioning
  • Initiate and implement product lines and roll outs that synchronize with the brand requirements, while meeting our company's goals
  • Work with our domestic and overseas design and development teams from line conceptualization all the way through to product confirmation
  • Have ongoing interaction with Licensors for product/collection approvals and Retailers
  • Responsible for knowing Market trends and how they apply within your Brands

Work Experience Requirement

  • 2-6 years experience working in product development
  • Previous brand or line management helpful
  • Must have strong analytical skills, understand trends and know how to combine the two to create saleable product lines
  • Must be able to multi-task and give direction in a team environment
  • Effective presentation, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to conceive/create new ideas and thinking outside the box on both product and process
  • Must be able to use Excel, PowerPoint, Photoshop, Elements 4.0 and In Design software
  • Experience in illustrator is also helpful
  • Domestic and international travel required
  • Strong sense of fashion and ability to hand sketch

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Fashion Design, Retail Merchandising or a related field
